What's the story about: It's about Ruddy visiting his Grandmother Silk. He doesn't want to visit his Grandmother Silk but he has to because his parents went on a cruise. When he's there, there's a huge snow storm and it turns off everything...even their sink. He and his Grandmother get snowed in together. They wear lots and lots of coats over and over because it's very cold because their heater went off. But they can still do a fire. Grandmother Silk teaches Ruddy how to play chess. When the people come to finally fix their power, he's a little sad because he had just started to have fun with his Grandmother.

E's review of the book: I think it was a good book because I am tempted for snow in the summer because it's hot here in Savannah. I liked the pictures and how the illustrator was really paying attention to their work. It's a good book to read in the summer when you're hot...but you will get tempted!

What's the story about: One day on New Year's day the mail arrived and it was a penguin. And then more and more penguins kept coming to the house and each had a little letter but no sign about who it was from on the outside. And the last penguin was Chilly. He had blue feet. And at the end there was 365 penguins in the house. Once they had all those, their Uncle Victor came and took them all back except for Chilly with blue feet. And then the next day there was a ding-dong and the #1 polar bear arrived!

E's review of the book: I think it's a really good book because I like penguins myself. It's funny because how many penguins they have and then the final big one is a polar bear!

What's the story about:
It's about 2 children who are whining and they didn't trust their dad that Monsters would eat whiny children. And then one day a monster came and stole the children. And the monsters couldn't decide what to make out of the whiny children. At the very end the monster aunt decided on cucumber sandwiches made with whiny children.

E's review of the book: I think it's a good book. I would say it's a fun book but not really funny. And it does have a few bad words in it I don't use in my house like "hate" and "stupid".

Linnea in Monet's Garden

What's the story about: Linnea is talking about Monet's Garden with Mr Bloom. Then Linnea wants to go to the Japanese bridge that Monet painted. They take a plane to Paris and go to a museum with most of Monet's art. Then they take a train to Monet's pink house. They look at the garden and the house. And then finally Linnea is on the Japanese bridge in Monet's Garden and she looks for the little boat that Monet painted. And it's still there.

E's review of the book: I liked the book because of all the pretty sites and they showed you real pictures of really what it looks like there.

What's the story about:It's about a boy named Andrew who wants freckles. He gets the secret ingredient for freckles from Sharon. When we drinks the recipe, nothing happens. The juice is so nasty that he gets sick. The next day since it didn't work, he put blue marker dots all over his face so Sharon would think her idea worked.

E's review of the book: I liked the book because I thought freckle juice was a funny name.

Barry the Fish with Fingers

E's review of the book: I think this book is hilarious because they use fishsticks as fingers. Kind of crazy. But they're fish!

What's the story about: Ramona has a lot of silly adventures in this book. She gets new pajamas and wears them to school by pretending she's a fireman and she wears her clothes over them. She makes slacks for her stuffed elephant on the sewing machine. Beezus gets a bad hairdo and Ramona thinks her own hairdo is pretty. At Howie's house, they make a huge mess with bluing in the downstairs sink.

E's review of the book: I thought the book was a good book because of all of Ramona's silly adventures.

He has lots of details he worries about. And especially one is at the beginning of the book - warning wear ear muffs before reading this book.

E's review of the book: I think it's a good book because everything is so funny. And he has a lot of serious details that he worries about. I like the drawings because it has interesting paper patterns in the back of some and the designs are fakish real.

E's review of the book: It's a good book. It's a true story which makes it interesting. At the end it has a real picture of her after all the drawings.

E's review of the book: It was a good book. And it looks like it's water colors and it's very pretty.

E's review of the book: I like the drawings in this book because the drawings in the book look like water color and I really like to paint with water color. And in the story there is a cat following you around the whole book.

E's review of the book: I would like to read this book 100 times. I think it's a really good book because I like rhyming books. And I like the bright colors of the book and the illustrations look so real.

E's review of the book: I liked the book a lot because you get the find the boys things in the illustrations. And the illustrations are really good because you can actually tell what things are and things up front our bigger and then they get smaller and smaller. They are very realistic.

A Sick Day For Amos McGee

E's review of the book: I liked it because when the animals ride on the bus it's funny. I like the illustrations in the book because most books I see the people only have 4 fingers.
