Title: Snowed in with Grandmother Silk

Author: Carol Fenner

Illustrator: Amanda Harvey

Number of Pages:75

What's the story about: It's about Ruddy visiting his Grandmother Silk. He doesn't want to visit his Grandmother Silk but he has to because his parents went on a cruise. When he's there, there's a huge snow storm and it turns off everything...even their sink. He and his Grandmother get snowed in together. They wear lots and lots of coats over and over because it's very cold because their heater went off. But they can still do a fire. Grandmother Silk teaches Ruddy how to play chess. When the people come to finally fix their power, he's a little sad because he had just started to have fun with his Grandmother.

E's review of the book: I think it was a good book because I am tempted for snow in the summer because it's hot here in Savannah. I liked the pictures and how the illustrator was really paying attention to their work. It's a good book to read in the summer when you're hot...but you will get tempted!
